Working with animals on a DOD project…

The client provides AI/ML, mostly to government and defense endeavors, but as they expanded into a commercial market, we asked ourselves — how much bear is too much bear?

Is it too vicious?

Is it too cute?

Is it not self-explanatory?

While I did not work on the branding, when producing a brand video and managing their event booth, we encouraged them to “embrace the beast”. Excuse the bear puns that follow…

Let’s Talk About the Bear in the Room

Leaning into the brand even further, we designed a radical 3D-video tradeshow booth experience, featuring… a big bear!

Looping a 30-second clip of a unique 3D bear walk cycle, including the bear going “super Sayan”, onto one LED canvas stretched across 2 x 10x10 screens, we saw the full potential of the bear brand in the marketing-wild.

Originally we wanted a four-dimensional experience of the bear swiping its paw towards you, like what you may have seen in times-square, but those 4D experiences only work when the viewer is standing in a particular spot. We needed a booth that looked great from any pedestrian angle.
